Hello, amazing 1st/2nd parents! Thank you for stopping by! I can't believe we have three weeks of this school year left! We are getting many things wrapped up and the kids have been working so hard!

Monday, May 22nd: Zoo Field Trip (thank you if you have turned in your child's permission slip, and please be sure to get it in if you haven't yet).

Wednesday, May 24th: PICTURE DAY! (: *Please return forms. I have not seen any forms come back yet, so please let me know if you have sent it back so that I may ask your child about it. Thanks so much!

Friday, May 26th: Talent-Show Try-Outs: If your child has a talent they'd like to show off in the Talent Show (details to come on the date of the Talent Show), they may audition on this day. Mrs. Warner will watch the auditions and decide on which performances will be showcased. 

Monday, May 29th: Memorial Day, No School

Tuesday, June 6th: Field Day/Lunch with Dads and Grandpas (9:30-noon) at Klineline. (Save the date, details to come!). 

Thursday, June 7th,: Summer Birthday Celebration (if your kiddo has a summer bday, you can send treats on this day. Please contact me about what you'd like to bring so we don't double-up, thank you!)

Friday, June 9th: Last Day of School/School Program (details to come) half-day (*Save this date! Closing Ceremony Celebration for the 2016-2017 school year in Mrs. Bates' classroom-awards for kids and memories! Details for this to come, it will likely begin before the school program and graduation).


Coming Up in reading:

First Grade: 






Second-Grade:












In math, first-grade will be reflecting on the year's big concepts and working in math packets, math centers, and Splash Math. Second-grade will be working on units of measurement, both standard and non-standard. In science we will continue to focus on the solar system and reflect on our visit to the zoo. In Bible, we will study Paul, Barnabas, and encouragement! Our verse for next week:

We watched Ms. Jones' class present their program about Lewis and Clark! They did an amazing job!
