Greetings, fabulous 1st/2nd parents! I feel like the end of the year is just racing by. Here we are in the middle of May! Thank you for dropping by. As the end of the year is upon us with its very important events, please do not hesitate to ask questions if you need clarification on any details. (:

Important Dates:



Saturday, May 13th: Sonshine Dinner and Auction: A Night in Italy 2. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door. There are some amazing items, and the food is great! You won't want to miss this special night of raising money for our wonderful school! 

Monday, May 15th-19th: MAP testing. Please make sure kiddos get a good night's rest and pack extra snacks! (; Thank you! 

Monday, May 22nd: Zoo Field Trip (I will be needing drivers and chaperones, please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested). *I will be sending out more permission slips this week, for anyone who may need one. 

Wednesday, May 24th: PICTURE DAY! (: *Please return forms. I will send more forms out this week. 

Monday, May 29th: Memorial Day, No School

Tuesday, June 6th: Field Day/Lunch with Dads and Grandpas (9:30-noon) at Klineline. (Save the date, details to come!).

Friday, June 9th: Last Day of School/School Program (details to come) half-day (*Save this date! Closing Ceremony Celebration for the 2016-2017 school year in Mrs. Bates' classroom-awards for kids and memories! Details for this to come, it will likely begin before the school program and graduation).

In Bible, we continue to study Peter. We will study Peter and Cornelius. In math, first-grade will wrap up 3-D shapes and start reviewing concepts from the year (story problems). Second-grade will study time and begin measurement. Our theme for the next two weeks is outer space and occupations. Here is our memory verse:
