Greetings, wonderful 1/2 Families!!! I hope that you have been enjoying this break from school. When we return, we will have only 9 weeks of instruction left in the school year! We have so much to do, but God will give us the endurance we need! I am hoping that the students return feeling refreshed and ready to soar! It will really help them to do a preview of the words coming up this week in reading and discuss the concepts in math that lie ahead of us this week. I will share these with you, as well as some important dates, and leave some great pics from the last week of March!
Important Dates Coming Up:
Thursday, April 13th, 2:15 pm: Learning about the last supper in class. Any contributions of food for our lesson would be appreciated: grape juice, pita bread/flat bread, hummus, olives, and grapes. Please note-this will not be a communion, but rather a time to learn about the last supper, and the importance of fellowship. We will watch a video about the significance of communion and the special meaning for the believer during school this week.
Sunday, April 16th, Easter Sunday at Faith Baptist Church. Breakfast at 9:30 am, service at 11, followed by Easter-Egg Hunt. Please let Rosemary know if your child would like to sing during the service.
Saturday, May 13th: Sonshine Dinner and Auction (details to come!)

In math, first grade will learn more about time and measurement. Second grade will do math centers around time and measurement as well and take on more subtraction with hundreds numbers! In science, we will continue to learn about oviparous animals, or animals that lay eggs. We will have a special Scholastic study on lizards. In fact, we will have changed the focus of our class book from our countries to animals that lay eggs (we took a vote) since we have been so engaged in research on this fun topic! Mrs. Johnson has brought us so many wonderful library books on this topic and we have been watching videos and Power Point presentations too!
