This week, we will focus on taking care of our bodies, specifically dental and heart health. We will also be discussing friendship and manners as well. Our continent study this month is Africa. Very soon, students will choose a country to research!
In math, first-graders will be focusing on counting coins. It is a great time to take out some coins at home and practice identifying them and counting them. In second-grade math, students will continue working in double-digit subtraction, proving their answers with addition, and answering story problems using double-digit subtraction. They will also work on money in "fun math". "Fun math" is what we call the the MyMath curriculum that includes money, time, geometry principles, and graphing. We will do lessons from this book on Wednesday afternoons.
